Auto Material Instance Maker Tool
A downloadable tool
This tool for UE5 (5.3 and later) lets you automatically create instanced materials for many textures at once, given a base material with parameters to fill.
For example, if you have a folder full of textures called things like "Chair_BaseColor", "Chair_Normal", "Chair_Roughness", "Table_Albedo", "Table_NRM", "Table_Rough", you can, in one click, create the material instances "MI_Chair" and "MI_Table" with all the textures automatically in the right parameter slots. As long as your textures all have some suffix describing the content, this'll work.
You can also set the values for all Scalar, Vector and Static Switch parameters on your material instances.
To use the tool, simply:
-Import it into your project
-Run it from the EditorUtilities folder
-Select your base material (instances will be created from this material)
-Set any default parameters you want to override
-Select all your textures in the Content Browser
-Press "Generate Instances"
Instances are created in a subfolder of the folder the textures are in, called MaterialInstances.
